A Bit More About Me

The photo above was taken on August 1, 2014 in the Yasawas Islands in Fiji. This image holds a special place in my heart as it was one of the defining moments that made me realize I would pursue a career in Speech-Language Pathology. I had the incredible opportunity to volunteer with Vinaka Fiji Volunteering, which allowed me to support underserved children in the school system in remote Yasawas Islands. I witnessed first-hand the struggles faced by both the children and teachers as they battled limited resources, time and disabilities. After returning to Canada, I followed my instincts and began pursuing the field of speech therapy. On a daily basis, I get a dose of fulfilment when I work with kids and their families to provide them support with their speech and language needs.

In my spare time, I enjoy being active, which includes skiing, running and yoga. One of my biggest hobbies is travelling. The travel bug bit me relatively young, and I adore jumping on a plane with a backpack, exploring new counties, and checking out all of the fantastic nature, cuisines, and people that make up the culture.

I'm bilingual, and I speak Bulgarian and English. I have some basic knowledge of French as well.
